Memorial services scheduled for two students

Memorial services will be held this month for two WUSTL students who recently died — Emily Benatar and Gabrielle “Gabby” Reuveni.

A service for Emily Benatar will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, in Graham Chapel. A reception will follow in the Women’s Building.

Benatar, a first-year Arts & Sciences student from Palo Alto, Calif., died Wednesday, May 9, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital from complications of meningococcal disease after being diagnosed three weeks earlier. She was 19 and a member of the women’s lacrosse team and Alpha Phi Sorority.

A service for Gabrielle Reuveni will be held at noon Sunday, Sept. 30, in the 560 Music Center, 560 Trinity Ave. A reception will follow.

Reuveni was a rising junior from Paramus, N.J., majoring in international and area studies/sustainable development and minoring in marketing. She died Saturday, July 14, after being struck by a pickup truck while running in Palmyra Township, Pa. Reuveni, 20, was a member of the Washington University women’s cross country and track & field teams and Alpha Phi Sorority.
