The honors are piling up for students in the Department of Classics in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis.
Graduate student Juan Dopico’s paper, “The Image of Imperial Homer,” was accepted for presentation by “Greece Among Romans & Rome Among Greeks: Ancient Traditions of Cultural Reception,” a graduate colloquium at the Ohio State University. Dopico just completed a master’s degree in classics.
Graduate student Tori Lee’s paper, “The Mystery of Alcibiades and His Involvement with the Hermai,” was accepted for presentation at “Beauty in the Beast: Mutants, Monsters, and Monstrosities in the Ancient World,” a graduate student symposium held in March 2015 at Johns Hopkins University.
Vergil Parson’s paper, “Poetic Potency and Loss in the Dirae,” was accepted for presentation at the 2015 Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) meeting, held in March. Parson just earned a master’s in classics.
Joshua Trosch, who graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in classics and in philosophy, had a paper, “Building an Ancient Greek Kithara,” accepted for presentation at a 2015 undergraduate research conference at Webster University.
