Content and projects produced by University Marketing & Communications and other departments across WashU recently won national and several regional awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. 

A national bicycle advocacy group recently recognized WashU as a bike- friendly campus, re-awarding the university its Gold level.

Joshua S. Yuan, chair of energy, environmental and chemical engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University, was installed as the Lucy & Stanley Lopata Professor Oct. 17.

Paul Byrne, an associate professor of earth, environmental and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences at WashU, was featured in “Volcano Worlds,” a PBS Nova documentary about the powerful volcanic eruptions that have shaped worlds across our solar system.

Rachel Sachs, a professor of law and an expert on pharmaceutical law, testified Oct. 29 before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary on reducing prescription drug costs.

Mark S. Wrighton, chancellor emeritus and the James and Mary Wertsch Distinguished University Professor at WashU, has been named to Ingram’s Magazine’s list of 50 power players and leaders in business.

Four WashU faculty members were named Distinguished Investigators by the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research.

Anjan Thakor, the John E. Simon Professor of Finance at Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, received an honorary doctorate Oct. 25 from the University of Gothenburg’s School of Business, Economics and Law in Sweden.

Gang Wu, an electrochemist at Washington University in St. Louis, has won a research award from the Electrochemical Society.

Three faculty members from WashU’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts — Chandler Ahrens, Constance Vale and Kelley Van Dyck Murphy — have been named University Design Research Fellows for the 2024-25 cycle of Exhibit Columbus.
