James P. Anno, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art History & Archaeology in Arts & Sciences, is one of 18 emerging professionals to win a prestigious summer internship at the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
Anno, a native of Ponca City, Okla., spent spring 2016 in Rome as a pre-doctoral research fellow of the Fondazione Lemmermann.
This summer, he will work with National Gallery curators and conservators to study and interpret objects from the permanent collection of sculpture and decorative arts — chiefly, but not exclusively, Italian (15th- and 16th-century) and French (18th- and 19th-century) works.
