The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research has announced that Alex Evers, MD, the Henry E. Mallinckrodt Professor of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, will receive the foundation’s 2024 Mentoring Excellence in Research Award. 

Faculty, staff and students have access to national and local news publications such as The New York Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and St. Louis Business Journal through the university’s library system.

Sam Fox, a business and civic leader who was also among St. Louis’ most prominent philanthropists and WashU’s most loyal and generous alumni, died Dec. 2, surrounded by friends and family. He was 95.

Sean Joe, the Benjamin E. Youngdahl Professor of Social Development at the Brown School, has been named a 2024-25 Institute for Economic Equity research fellow by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

The ad hoc committee established by the WashU Board of Trustees to review the university’s policies and guidelines governing on-campus protests and demonstrations is continuing its work and expects to submit a report in March. WashU community input is welcome.
