Julie Flory, vice chancellor for marketing and communications, has left the university as of Aug. 3, after more than a decade of service, announced Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

Victoria “Tori” Mondelli, founding director of the University of Missouri’s Teaching for Learning Center, has been appointed as WashU’s new executive director and assistant provost for the Center for Teaching and Learning, effective Aug. 3.

Kathy Gaytan, executive director of compliance and audit at WashU, will retire Dec. 31, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin. A search for her replacement is underway.

Several faculty members have been appointed to new leadership positions in the Office of the Provost at WashU, effective by July 1, Provost Mark West announced.

At the WashU Board of Trustees meeting May 1, a few faculty members were appointed, promoted or granted tenure.

Tate Duch and Melissa Rockwell-Hopkins have been named to expanded leadership roles in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration and Chief Administrative Officer at Washington University in St. Louis.

Joseph M. Jez has been named vice dean of graduate studies in WashU Arts & Sciences, effective July 1, announced Feng Sheng Hu, the Richard G. Engelsmann Dean of Arts & Sciences. He succeeds Sophia Hayes.

Cal J. Halvorsen, a gerontological social work scholar and an associate professor at the WashU Brown School, will step into a new leadership role this summer as co-director of the Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging. 

Will Arvin, vice chancellor for medical advancement at Washington University in St. Louis, has been appointed executive vice chancellor for advancement, effective Jan. 5, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin. Arvin will succeed Pamella A. Henson, who is retiring.

Pamella A. Henson, executive vice chancellor for university advancement, will retire Jan. 4, concluding a distinguished career spanning 34 years at WashU and 40 years in the profession, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.
