Nearly 1 million assistance calls made to 211 in August

In August, Americans made nearly a million calls for help to the 211 emergency resources helpline, according to 211 Counts, a national tracking system in 36 states developed by the Brown School’s Health Communication Research Laboratory.

Multi-omics leverages the power of several different “omics” data types at once to build a detailed picture of factors that contribute to human health and disease. Under a $19.2 million grant award, Gary Patti, in Arts & Sciences, and Ting Wang, at the School of Medicine, will manage a new hub for multi-omics analyses at Washington University.

Flu vaccines available on campus

Flu season is approaching. Some employees are required to get the flu vaccine, and all are encouraged to do so. Some clinics will be held in early October on the Danforth Campus, and flu shots are regularly available on the Medical Campus.
