HLC accreditation open forums set for Oct. 28, 29
As part of WashU’s 10-year comprehensive evaluation, the Higher Learning Commission, the institutional accreditor, will host three open forums Oct. 28 and 29 to gather input from faculty, staff and students.
Information security policies updated
WashU’s Office of Information Security has recently revised and updated its policies to keep pace with the evolving digital landscape.
CRE² accepting applications for funding
The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity invites its faculty affiliates to apply for course innovation grants of up to $5,000. Tila Neguse, senior associate director, says the grants are designed to support next-generation learning opportunities that bring students together to better understand race and ethnicity. Applications are due Nov. 25.
2025 Confluence Award submissions sought
Submissions are sought for the third annual William H. Danforth St. Louis Confluence Award. The deadline is Nov. 22.
East entrance to Central West End MetroLink station to temporarily close
The east entrance and walkway connecting the Central West End MetroLink station platform with bus bays at the transit center, near the Medical Campus, will temporarily close at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. They will reopen Monday, Oct. 21.
Danforth Task Force on Climate and Culture releases report
A task force composed of faculty, staff and students charged with evaluating the interactions between faculty mentors and their graduate and professional students or postdoctoral fellow mentees at WashU recently completed its report and made recommendations.
Flu shots available for employees
Occupational Health Services is holding free on-site flu vaccine clinics for WashU employees on both the Danforth and Medical campuses. Flu shots will take place on the Danforth Campus Oct. 7-11.
Emergency communication test Oct. 8
WashU plans to test its emergency communication system at 9:55 a.m. Oct. 8. Students and employees are encouraged to ensure their contact information is updated.
Professional development courses available to staff
WashU offers a variety of courses to employees to learn new skills and grow professionally. Courses, in both virtual and in-person formats, are available to employees at all levels, whether or not they are in manager roles.
East entrance to Central West End MetroLink station to temporarily close
The east entrance and walkway that connect the Central West End MetroLink Station platform with Metro bus bays at the Central West End Transit Center, near the WashU Medicine campus, will temporarily close starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. The east entrance and walkway will reopen Monday, Sept. 30.
