Cal J. Halvorsen, an associate professor at the Brown School, has been awarded a visiting scholar grant to spend 10 weeks at the renowned Karolinska Institute in Stockholm in summer 2025.

Washington University in St. Louis seniors Elijah Darden and Isaac Seiler were both Rhodes Scholars finalists, one of the world’s highest academic honors.

The $84,000 grant will support her research project, which examines the impact of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision on adolescents and young adults’ autonomy over their bodies.

Rachel Sachs, a professor of law and an expert on pharmaceutical law, testified Oct. 29 before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary on reducing prescription drug costs.

Mark S. Wrighton, chancellor emeritus and the James and Mary Wertsch Distinguished University Professor at WashU, has been named to Ingram’s Magazine’s list of 50 power players and leaders in business.

Four WashU faculty members were named Distinguished Investigators by the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research.

Anjan Thakor, the John E. Simon Professor of Finance at Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, received an honorary doctorate Oct. 25 from the University of Gothenburg’s School of Business, Economics and Law in Sweden.
