Aki Ishida has been named the Sam and Marilyn Fox Professor in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. A lecture and reception to celebrate her appointment were held Sept. 25 in Steinberg Hall.

Catherine E. Lang, a leading researcher in stroke recovery and rehabilitation in the WashU Medicine Program in Physical Therapy, has been installed as the inaugural Barbara J. Norton Professor of Physical Therapy.

William B. McKinnon, a professor in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, was recently installed as the Clark Way Harrison Distinguished Professor.

Fuzhong Zhang, a renowned expert in synthetic biology, has been named the Francis F. Ahmann Professor in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.

Diana J. Montaño and Christina Ramos, both faculty members in the Department of History in Arts & Sciences, have been selected as Georgie W. Lewis Career Development Professors.

Kim and Tim Eberlein, MD, were recently honored with the 2025 Jane and Whitney Harris St. Louis Community Service Award. The honor recognizes couples who contribute to the betterment of the greater St. Louis community.

Emily Martin, a prospect management consultant with University Advancement, has been selected for Focus St. Louis’ fall 2025 Women in Leadership cohort. 

Jianjun Guan, an expert in biomaterials and tissue engineering, has been named the Earl E. and Myrtle E. Walker Professor of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.

Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis has received a landmark $10 million dual-purpose gift from longtime university benefactors Jerry and Judy Kent to create an endowed deanship and to propel the school’s Business of Health initiative.
