The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration is now accepting applications for the fall 2023 Emerging Leaders Program, the Leadership Excellence and Development Program and the Coaching Program.

Washington University in St. Louis junior Nidhi Krishnan, an ROTC cadet in the Gateway Battalion and an Ervin Scholar, has been awarded a Truman Scholarship, the prestigious graduate fellowship in the United States for those pursuing careers in public service. 

Sarah Del Carmen Camacho, a senior studying global studies and education in Arts & Sciences, has been selected to join the James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Thurtene Carnival, the nation’s oldest and largest student-run carnival, returns to Washington University this weekend. The event will feature thrill rides, fair food, carnival games and student performances.

Three juniors in Arts & Sciences — John Georgiades, Shelei Pan and Kaung “Ken” Soe — have received the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, a prestigious award that honors students who conduct research in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering.

A new research project at Washington University will study the history of Chinese Americans and Japanese Americans in St. Louis. The project, “Asia in St. Louis: A Story Map Dedicated to the Greater Saint Louis Community,” won a $10,000 grant from the Missouri Humanities council.

Washington University in St. Louis has teamed up with 15 of the nation’s leading public and private higher education institutions to launch STARS College Network (Small-Town And Rural Students), a new effort to help students from small-town and rural America enroll in, succeed at and graduate from the undergraduate program of their choice.

Washington University has once again been recognized as a “Voter-Friendly Campus” by the Campus Vote Project and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). The nation’s 258 Voter-Friendly Campuses boast comprehensive voter engagement, education and turnout plans.
