Beverly R. Wendland, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, will complete her provost appointment after a successful five-year term in the role. Her transition is effective July 31, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

The Danforth Campus of Washington University in St. Louis suffered moderate damage during severe weather in the St. Louis metropolitan area May 16.

David H. Perlmutter, MD, executive vice chancellor for medical affairs and the George and Carol Bauer Dean of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, will conclude his deanship on June 30, 2026, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

Washington University in St. Louis has been reviewing its programs and activities in support of diversity, equity and inclusion. A committee will make recommendations to university leadership for how WashU can best achieve its community-focused goals while continuing to comply with federal guidance and laws.

WashU will pause construction on major capital projects on its Danforth Campus, in response to uncertainties regarding federal funding. 

The ad hoc committee established by the WashU Board of Trustees to review the university’s policies and guidelines governing on-campus protests and demonstrations has completed its work.

Monica J. Allen, vice chancellor and general counsel at Washington University in St. Louis, will retire from the university Nov. 3 after nearly 20 years of service, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin. 

The Board of Trustees of Washington University in St. Louis is establishing an ad hoc committee to review university policies and guidelines governing on-campus protests and demonstrations. Emeritus Trustee William B. Pollard III is chair of the committee.

As a new academic year begins, Washington University in St. Louis is unveiling a new visual identity and an enhanced effort to communicate its important contributions in the areas of education, research and patient care to key internal and external audiences.

On Friday, Aug. 16, Washington University in St. Louis will unveil an updated visual identity, to include a new university logo and an updated washu.edu website.
