Washington University in St. Louis is committed to engaging with its global partners to help address our biggest challenges together. This spirit of collaboration was evident at the inaugural meeting of the Africa initiative, held April 23 on the Danforth Campus.

Washington University in St. Louis has launched a new $3.5 million solar project. When complete, it will generate 2.5 megawatts of energy across the university, enough to take 480 cars off the road.

The Women’s Bakery, which provides access to education and employment for women in East Africa through the building of bakeries, won Washington University in St. Louis’ 2018 Global Impact Award on Oct. 29.

A delegation from Washington University in St. Louis, led by Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton, recently took part in a day of celebration, collaboration and partnership at Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, China.

Addressing global challenges in a spirit of cooperation and collaboration was the prevailing theme of the 7th McDonnell Academy International Symposium, co-hosted by Washington University in St. Louis and Tsinghua University, and held in Beijing Oct. 11-14.
