The Institute of Medicine (IOM) will host a regional meeting on Genomics and the Future of Medicine from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Eric P. Newman Education Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The Newman Center is located at 320 S. Taylor Ave.
Timothy Ley, M.D., the Alan A. & Edith Wolff Professor of Medicine at the School of Medicine, will give a talk titled “The Cancer Genome.” Jeffrey I. Gordon, M.D., director of the medical school’s Center for Genome Sciences, also will address “The Microbiome — in Health and Diseases.”

The IOM is a non-profit organization chartered in 1970 as a part of the United States National Academy of Sciences.
