Washington University recently released an off-campus safety video that offers tips to help students, faculty and staff stay safe while living in and visiting off-campus housing.
The eight-minute video features Police Chief Don Strom and WUSTL graduate students and alumni and was produced by the WUSTL Police Department and the Office of Public Affairs.
To view the video, visit the WUSTL Police Web site, police.wustl.edu/safetyvid-offcampus.html, the university’s video newsroom, videonews.wustl.edu/?play=off_campus_safety, or the university’s YouTube page, youtube.com/wustlpa.
The WUSTL Police Department also offers numerous other resources to help students, faculty and staff stay safe both on and off-campus. WUSTL police offer safety brochures and flyers that contain much of the same information featured in the video. To request a brochure, contact WUSTL Police Sgt. Mark Glenn at (314) 935-5084 or mark_glenn@wustl.edu.
In addition, the police department offers safety whistles free to all WUSTL community members, and faculty, staff and students can purchase bike locks and steering wheel locks at a reduced rate. The police department also offers self-defense classes free of charge. For more information on these and other programs, visit police.wustl.edu.
