The Record, the source of Washington University news and information since 1974, launches an entirely digital publication today, Jan. 19, 2010.
It is part of Newsroom, the new comprehensive Web site of the University News Service and Medical News Service that debuts today as well. The digital format will allow more timely coverage of events, sharing to social networks such as Facebook and Twitter and seamless integration of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and other Web 2.0 technologies.
Washington University faculty, staff and students will begin receiving a daily e-mail when classes are in session and weekly during school breaks and in the summer months. Users will notice the continuation of regular features of the Record, such as Washington People profiles, Notables and sports updates.
The Newsroom Web site is continuing to evolve and more features will be added in the coming months. In the meantime, we invite you to browse the new format and offer any feedback and suggestions to RecordEditor@wustl.edu.
