Kenneth C. Bardach has been named associate dean and director of ExecEdge Corporate Education at the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, announced Stuart I. Greenbaum, dean and Bank of America Professor at the Olin School. Bardach joins Olin from Case Western Reserve, where he served as associate dean of Executive Education Programs at the Weatherhead School of Management.
Bardach brings more than 30 years of academic and corporate experience to his post, having twice served in executive education director positions at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and having directed corporate management education and development programs for numerous organizations.
“I have had the privilege of working with Ken Bardach off and on for the past 30 years,” Greenbaum said. “I know he is a consummate professional, a leader in the world of executive education, and a man of uncompromising integrity. His presence at the Olin School will add luster to all we do.”
As associate dean and director of executive education at Kellogg (1995-2002), Bardach doubled annual total programs, participant enrollments, and program revenues, increasing profits 120 percent. He designed and developed 15 senior-level executive programs.
Prior, he served as associate dean and director of the MBA Program at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University (1993-1994) and as associate dean of Masters’ Programs at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Management (1987-1993). At Rensselaer, he helped design and launch the Management and Technology MBA Program and a new Executive MBA Program. He also designed and delivered customized programs for IBM, General Electric, General Motors, Union National Bank, and the New York State Office of Mental Health, among other organizations.
From 1985 to 1987, Bardach was director of the Office of Executive Programs at Boston University School of Management.
He developed corporate-sponsored management education programs for Harris Corporation as director of Management Education and Development from 1984 to 1985, and managed Deere & Company’s Management Development Resources area from 1980 to 1984.
Bardach first worked for Northwestern’s Kellogg School from 1973 to 1976 as an instructor in finance. His responsibilities were expanded in 1976 to include the roles of associate director of Executive Programs and director of the Executive Master Program.
Early in his career Bardach was a lecturer in economics and finance at New York University Graduate School of Business (1971-1973), where he pursued doctoral studies in economics and finance with an international concentration. He received an MBA in economics and finance from that institution and holds a BA in English from Yale University.
Bardach served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Peru from 1967 to 1969.
