Counterpublic returns with “Coyote Time,” its third iteration. On view throughout the fall, the St. Louis-wide public art triennial — one of the largest in the United States — features more than 50 artists, including many associated with the WashU Sam Fox School.

Derek Hoeferlin has been installed as the Raymond E. Maritz Professor of Architecture at the WashU Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.

The Sam Fox School Gallery at Washington University in St. Louis presents “It Is What It Is When It Is,” a solo exhibition of new work from St. Louis-based artist Sterling Lawrence.

A new book, “Edward E. Boccia: Painter of Nightmares and Dreams,” revisits the life and work of the St. Louis painter, who taught at WashU from 1951 to 1986.

Beloved illustrator Mary Engelbreit has donated 120 original illustrations and related materials to WashU Libraries. The collection highlights her whimsical style, business acumen and activism and will support research, teaching and a public exhibition planned for July.

Launched in 2007, WashU’s Alberti Program offers young people a hands-on introduction to architecture, a field rarely included in the K-12 curriculum. Students ask the same questions, use the same tools and build the same models as real-life architects.
