Rabbi Hershey Novack of Chabad at Washington University in St. Louis has been selected as the 2021 recipient of the Visionary Award by JProSTL, the professional sector of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis.

Washington University doctoral candidate Jae Kim has won a 2021 Literature Translation Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Kenneth R. Boschert, DVM, associate director of the Division of Comparative Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, has received the Charles A. Griffin Award from the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science. The award recognizes those in veterinary medicine who have demonstrated ethical scientific or technological advancements in humane experimentation or improved animal care practices.

Mary McKay, the Neidorff Family and Centene Corporation Dean of the Brown School, has been elected as the  incoming president of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare, and Renee Cunningham-Williams, associate professor at the Brown School, was inducted as an academy fellow. 

Rebecca Wanzo, chair and professor of women, gender and sexuality studies in Arts & Sciences, has won the Katherine Singer Kovács awards for outstanding scholarship in cinema and media studies from the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.

James M. DuBois, the Steven J. Bander Professor of Medical Ethics and Professionalism, and Kenneth M. Ludmerer, MD, the Mabel Dorn Reeder Distinguished Professor of the History of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, have been named Hastings Center Fellows. The Hastings Center addresses social and ethical issues in health care, science and technology.

Dedric Carter, vice chancellor for operations and technology transfer at Washington University in St. Louis, has been appointed chair of the board of the Missouri Technology Corp.

The French Connexions Cultural Center at Washington University in St. Louis has been elected to the Centers of Excellence of the Embassy of France.
