Princess Imoukhuede, associate professor, has been named director of diversity initiatives for the McKelvey School of Engineering. In addition, Jessica Wagenseil, associate professor, has been appointed vice dean for faculty advancement at the school, and she will serve as associate chair of the McKelvey Faculty Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Jeffrey Zacks, associate chair and professor of psychological and brain sciences in Arts & Sciences, and of radiology at the School of Medicine, received the Mid-career Award from the Psychonomic Society.

The American Psychological Association has named Henry L. “Roddy” Roediger, the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of Psychological & Brain Sciences in Arts & Sciences, the recipient of its 2021 Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions. In addition, the Psychonomic Society has awarded Roediger the Clifford T. Morgan Distinguished Leadership Award.

Steven Don, MD, associate professor of radiology and of pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has received the 2020 Pioneer Award from the Society for Pediatric Radiology for his innovative work in the development of digital radiography and digital imaging.

Aadel A. Chaudhuri, MD, PhD, assistant professor of radiation oncology at Washington University School of Medicine, has received the V Scholar Award from the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

Bill McKinnon, professor of earth and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences, is one of 62 geoscientists who have been elected to the American Geophysical Union’s 2020 class of fellows.

Washington University in St. Louis has been awarded a Level 2 accreditation by the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and the Morton Arboretum for achieving standards of professional practices deemed important for arboreta and botanic gardens.

LFR International, a nonprofit founded by Zach Eisner, a senior studying biomedical engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering, and Peter Delaney, a 2018 alumnus, received the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for its work in sub-Saharan Africa. 

Joan L. Luby, MD, the Samuel and Mae S. Ludwig Professor of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has received the Ruane Prize for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry from the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation.

Research conducted by Jacob Holland-Lulewicz, lecturer in archaeology in Arts & Sciences, was named one of the Top 10 Discoveries of 2020 by Archaeology Magazine.
