Ryan Lawson, BFA ’04, is an interior designer who as a student switched from studying architecture to art. He says that Chancellor Wrighton took a keen interest in his choice because Lawson was a student during the early planning phases of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.

James McCarter, MD/PhD ’98, whose entrepreneurial spirit was nurtured while a grad student, has built his career on translational research.

As a student, JD Ross, BSBA ’11, BS ’11, ran two businesses. Ever entrepreneurial, after graduating from the university, Ross created a new way to sell homes with Opendoor.

Stephen Lockhart, MD, AB ’77, is an avid outdoorsman who makes sure future generations have the opportunity to explore nature.

Now, Lidong Pan, LLM ’04, is a managing partner at a Chinese law firm, where he excels at dealing with international clients. He says it’s in part thanks to the education and practical experience he got through Washington University.

Xiaohua Fei, MArch ’00, founded X-urban Associates, an architecture firm in China, after earning his master’s in architecture from Washington University.

Whether its pursuing athletic prowess or professional excellence, alumna Kerri Morgan, assistant professor of occupational therapy and neurology at the medical school, continues to rise to meet and exceed each challenge she sets for herself.
