Board grants faculty appointments, tenure
At the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees meeting Sept. 19, numerous faculty members were appointed, promoted or granted tenure, with most taking effect that day.
Public comments welcome during WashU PD reaccreditation process
The Washington University in St. Louis Police Department is in the process of pursuing reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). That organization is accepting public comments about WashU PD.

Emergency communication test Oct. 7
The university plans to test WashU Alerts, its emergency communication system, at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7. The test will encompass all WashU Alert modes.

$5 million funds innovation of more-potent opioid overdose antidote
WashU Medicine researchers received a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that will help speed development of an enhanced version of naloxone, known by the brand name Narcan.
Flu shots available for employees
Flu shots again will be available to WashU employees on the Danforth and Medical campuses this fall. Some employees may be required to receive the vaccine.
Advisory committee leads way on inclusive excellence, welcomes input
The Inclusive Excellence Advisory Committee is actively working to develop guidance that will help WashU advance its commitments to diversity and inclusion. The committee will recommend systems and structures that allow students, faculty and staff to engage with university values in line with civil rights laws.
