Business summit: Is the economy stable or stalled?

Timothy J. Eberlein, MD, director of the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and the Spencer T. and Ann W. Olin Distinguished University Professor (third from left), makes a point during the “Entrepreneurial Spirit: Changing the Face of St. Louis” panel discussion at the annual Leaders in Business Summit Sept. 25 at the Charles F. Knight Executive Education and Conference Center. The event, “Stable or Stalled? What’s Next for the Economy?”, featured several panel discussions with prominent local business leaders and Olin Business School faculty members about the evolving global economy and where it might be heading. Joining Eberlein on the panel were (from left) Robert F. O’Loughlin, chairman and CEO of Lodging Hospitality Management, and Mark Trudeau, president and CEO of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. The moderator was Barton Hamilton, PhD, the Robert Brookings Smith Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship at Olin. Sponsored by Olin and Deloitte, the half-day event allowed participants to network with business leaders, presenters, students and faculty.
