
Award-winning American Indian poet Carter Revard, Ph.D., professor emeritus of English in Arts & Sciences, reads selected Indian poems during a meeting of the “American Indian Societies, Cultures and Values” class Feb. 23. The class, organized and led by Steven Gunn, J.D., associate professor of law, is part of the new Interfaculty Initiative on American Indian Affairs featuring faculty members from law, social work, medicine, anthropology, music and literature. This initiative, organized by the Kathryn M. Buder for American Indian Studies at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work, promotes collaborative scholarly endeavors including research, teaching and professional consultation on American Indian issues.
