Women in economics focus of Yale professor’s visit to Olin

Judith Chevalier to speak for the Distinguished Women in Economics & Strategy series

Judith Chevalier, PhD, the William S. Beinecke Professor of Finance and Economics at Yale University will vist Washington University in St. Louis April 26 and 27 as the Distinguished Women in Economics and Strategy speaker.

The speaker series is sponsored by the Center for Research in Economics & Strategy (CRES) in the Olin Business School.

Chevalier

Chevalier’s first lecture, “Differentiated to Death?” will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 26, in Simon Hall, Room 241. Chevalier’s research is in the areas of finance, industrial organization and macroeconomics.

At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, in Simon Hall, Room 210, Chevalier will speak on “Junior Faculty Development: What Can We Learn From the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession?”

Chevalier served on the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession and the Executive Committee of the American Economic Association.

She is co-editor of the Rand Journal of Economics and served as co-editor of the American Economic Review. Chevalier earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
