The Graduate Student Senate honored seven faculty members with Outstanding Faculty Mentor Awards during its 11th annual awards ceremony and reception April 14 in the Danforth University Center. The 2009-10 award recipients are: (from left, first row) Daniel C. Link, MD, the Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Professor of Medicine; Randall Larsen, PhD, the William R. Stuckenberg Professor of Human Values and Moral Development and chair of the Department of Psychology in Arts & Sciences; Paul Michael Lutzeler, PhD, the Rosa May Distinguished University Professor in the Humanities and professor of German and of comparative literature, both in Arts & Sciences; Fatemeh Keshavarz, PhD, chair of the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages and Literatures and professor of Persian language and literature in Arts & Sciences; Curtis McMillen, PhD, professor of social work and associate director of the Center for Mental Health Services Research; (back row) Andrew C. Sobel, PhD, associate professor of political science and a fellow in the Center in Political Economy, both in Arts & Sciences; and Timothy H. Parsons, PhD, professor of history and of African and African-American studies, both in Arts & Sciences. The awards are designed to honor faculty members whose dedication to graduate students and commitment to excellence in graduate training have made a significant contribution to the quality of life and professional development of graduate students in Arts & Sciences. Special recognition for excellence in mentoring went to 14 other faculty members at the ceremony.
