20th annual WUSTL Pow Wow Saturday, April 10

WHAT: The 20th annual Pow Wow at Washington University, a festival of American Indian cultures

WHEN: Saturday, April 10 from noon to 10 p.m. Grand entries of dancers will be showcased at 1 and 6 p.m. Arts & crafts booths will open at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Washington University’s Athletic Center, near the intersection of Forsyth Boulevard and Olympian Way.

WHO: Tribal dancers from throughout the Midwest will participate in the Pow Wow along with students, faculty and staff from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work.

COST: Free and open to the public

WHY: The Pow Wow draws crowds from all over the Midwest to experience American Indian dancing, singing, drumming, arts, crafts and food.

This year’s theme is “Honoring Kathryn Buder’s Vision: Listening to the Native Voice.”
