Know where to go

Mark Bagby (right), university emergency management coordinator, points out an Emergency Assembly Point (EAP) to staff members Connie Diekman and Paul Schimmele and intern Emily Carlson. EAPs — such as this one in front of McMillan Hall — are designated areas where those inside a particular building should assemble when an evacuation is needed, such as during a fire alarm. “EAPs provide a central location for police, fire and emergency medical service to go to check whether everyone is out of the building and if anyone needs medical or other assistance,” Bagby says. EAP signs have been erected on the Danforth, North and West campuses and will go up on the Medical Campus in the next few months. To locate your building’s EAP, visit emergency.wustl.edu and look in the “Where to go” section.
