Senior Zach Greenberg is hoisted onto his competitors’ shoulders after a panel of judges selected him as Mr. Wash U April 1 at Edison Theatre. Greenberg was one of 16 students vying for the title. The competition included raising money for the charity City Faces and a “talent” show in which Greenberg, joined by six of his basketball teammates, performed a self-choreographed dance to the High School Musical song, “Get’cha Head in the Game.” Since 2001, the Mr. Wash U contest has recognized an undergraduate male who has outstanding personality, character, integrity, extracurricular involvement and who contributes to the university and St. Louis communities. This year’s competition raised more than $31,500 for City Faces, a local nonprofit organization started by Bob Hansman, associate professor of architecture and artist-in-residence in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ College of Architecture, that works to bring arts education to children in public housing.
