Robin L. Shepard, D.Sc. (left), an adjunct instructor of chemical engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, and Brad Pelz, a senior in electrical engineering, cut tile at a house under construction in St. Louis’ North Grand Neighborhood for the WUSTL chapter of Engineers Without Borders Service Project Day Feb. 20. Looking on is Emily Wesson, a junior majoring in anthropology in Arts & Sciences. The project, aimed at developing affordable housing, was part of Engineers Week: February 14-20, the engineering school’s week of special events to inspire current and future engineers. Other Engineers Week activities included an alumni panel discussion, titled “True-Life: The Life of a Professional Minority Engineer,” coordinated by the National Society of Black Engineers, and the Mr. Engineering Pageant, sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers.
