Members of the Washington University community will gather at 7:30 p.m. April 19 in Brookings Quadrangle to show support for those impacted by the Virginia Tech tragedy.
Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton will deliver remarks, as will Karin Johnes, a Virginia Tech alumna and former director of WUSTL’s Greek life; John Lottes, director of Lutheran Campus Ministry; the Rev. Gary Braun, director of the Catholic Student Center at WUSTL; and Neil Patel, president of Student Union.
Student speakers from various faith backgrounds will share reflections, prayers or other means of support for the Virginia Tech community.
Candle lighting and a moment of silence will follow, and those in attendance will have the opportunity to add their thoughts to a condolence message that will be sent to Virginia Tech.
The entire observance is expected to last about an hour. For more information, call 935-5994.
