A. Peter Mutharika, J.S.D., professor of law, has been appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators and the Panel of Conciliators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. Some 143 countries are contracting parties to this World Bank center, which serves as the tribunal for resolving international investment disputes. Mutharika is an expert on international economic law, international law and comparative constitutional law. He has played a leading role in the conceptualization and structuring of Malawi’s new democratic Constitution; served as general counsel of the Malawi Action Committee, a human-rights organization; and advised his brother’s successful campaign for the presidency of Malawi. …
