
Photographer Phyllis Galembo will speak about her work at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 in Steinberg Auditorium for the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Galembo is renowned for documenting religious costumes and rituals in Africa, Brazil and Haiti. Her work has been collected in five monographs — including most recently Dressed for Thrills, 100 Years of Halloween Costumes and Masquerade (2003) — and displayed at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the American Museum of Natural History in New York, among many other museums.
