New caregiver leave policy for staff takes effect Jan. 1

Washington University in St. Louis will offer its staff members paid parental and caregiver leave effective Jan. 1, announced Henry S. Webber, executive vice chancellor for administration and chief administrative officer.

Course teaches medical trainees how to provide care in developing countries

A recent two-week crash course on global health helped prepare medical students, residents and fellows for clinical rotations and long-term careers in developing countries. Caring for such patients requires a different mindset for trainees accustomed to working in modern medical centers with updated technology and no shortage of supplies or medications.

Rivera named chair of graduate architecture

Barcelona-based architect Mónica Rivera has been named chair of graduate architecture at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.
