Haroutounian named chief of clinical research for Pain Center
Simon Haroutounian, PhD, assistant professor of anesthesiology, has been named the chief of clinical research for the Washington University Pain Center.
Obituary: Tad Foote, former School of Law dean, 78
Edward T. (Tad) Foote II, dean of the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis from 1973-1980, died of complications from Parkinson’s disease Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, in Cutler Bay, Fla. He was 78.
Trademark licensing program fairs planned
The 2016 Trademark Licensing Supplier Fair will be held soon. The Danforth Campus fair is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23. The Medical Campus fair is March 9. The Trademark Licensing Program protects the university’s registered trademarks and goodwill.
Buck named a 2016 Young Leader awardee
LaTanya Buck, director of the Center for Diversity & Inclusion at Washington University in St. Louis, has been named a 2016 Young Leader awardee by the St. Louis American Foundation.
Bear Cub Challenge deadline approaching
The university’s Bear Cub grant program helps researchers make the leap from bench scientists to budding entrepreneurs. The latest deadline for faculty, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students to submit a two-sentence project description is Feb. 28.

Medical Campus phones to be offline this weekend

Obituary: Donald Lasater, former trustee, 90
Donald E. Lasater, a former member of the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees, died of natural causes Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. He was 90.
Purnell awarded 2016 FOCUS St. Louis Leadership Award
