Philip E. Cryer, MD, a professor emeritus and former longtime director of the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Lipid Research at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, died Feb. 24, 2024, at a hospital in St. Louis following a heart attack. He was 84.

Peter Alan Fedders, a professor emeritus of physics in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, died Feb. 22, 2024, in La Jolla, Calif. He was 85. Fedders was an expert in condensed-matter physics who made significant contributions to the theory of nuclear magnetic resonance.

Justin B. Serugo, a senior research technician in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, died Feb. 6, 2024, in St. Louis following a battle with liver cancer. He was 44.

Catherine Marroquin, a junior studying neuroscience and psychology in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024. She was 24.

Sudhir M. Singh, MD, an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Lipid Research at the School of Medicine, died Dec. 24 following a short illness. He was 45.

John Sprague, the Sidney W. Souers Professor Emeritus of Government in the Department of Political Science in Arts & Sciences, died Dec. 21, 2023. He was 89.

Peter R. Phillips, a professor emeritus of physics in Arts & Sciences, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, in St. Louis. He was 92 years old.

Janis Lea Morris Schade, a 25-year employee in Facilities Planning & Management at Washington University in St. Louis, died at her home Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. She was 63.

Mark Rollins, a professor emeritus of philosophy in Arts & Sciences and former dean of University College, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, in Columbia, Mo., following a battle with cancer. He was 76.

Harry Kisker, a former vice provost and dean of students at Washington University in St. Louis for nearly two decades, died peacefully Nov. 14 in Los Angeles surrounded by family. He was 80. Kisker is credited with creating the vibrant undergraduate experience that continues at WashU today.
