James M. DuBois, the Steven J. Bander Professor of Medical Ethics and Professionalism, and Kenneth M. Ludmerer, MD, the Mabel Dorn Reeder Distinguished Professor of the History of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, have been named Hastings Center Fellows. The Hastings Center addresses social and ethical issues in health care, science and technology.

Stephens to leave position as head of University Libraries
Denise Stephens will be leaving her position as vice provost and university librarian at Washington University, Provost Beverly Wendland announced. Stephens has been appointed dean of libraries at the University of Oklahoma, her alma mater, and will begin that role in May.

Matifadza Hlatshwayo Davis, MD, an instructor in medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine, has been appointed to the City of St. Louis Board of Health. Her term runs until February 2024.
Gibson recognized by Academy of Science of South Africa
James L. Gibson, who has studied and written extensively about the evolution of South Africa’s democracy in the post-apartheid era, has been elected to the Academy of Science of South Africa as an honorary foreign associate.
Center for the Humanities faculty fellows named
