Melissa Rockwell-Hopkins, whose position has her overseeing more than $1 billion in construction projects at the School of Medicine, has been named the school’s associate vice chancellor for operations and facilities management.

Jeff M. Michalski, MD, the Carlos A. Perez Distinguished Professor and vice chair and director of clinical programs in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the School of Medicine, has been elected president-elect of the American Society for Radiation Oncology board of directors.

Ariel Carpenter, director of student life and international services at Claremont Graduate University, has joined Washington University as interim director of the Office for International Students and Scholars, announced Mark Kamimura-Jimenez, associate vice chancellor and dean of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion.

Kenan Omurtag, MD, an accomplished fertility specialist, educator and mentor, has been named director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine.

Ting Y. Tao, MD, PhD, assistant professor of radiology at the School of Medicine, has been named chief of the pediatric radiology section in the university’s Department of Radiology. Tao also has assumed the role of radiologist-in-chief at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
