Architecture firm KieranTimberlake will receive the Dean’s Medal for outstanding service to the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts April 21 as part of the school’s 2022 Awards for Distinction ceremony, which will be held virtually April 21.

The Society for Research in Psychopathology has awarded its Joseph Zubin Lifetime Achievement Award to WashU’s Deanna Barch in recognition of her lifetime contributions to the understanding of the field.

Artists Margaux Crump, Alison McNulty and Yvonne Osei have each won the 2022 Stone & DeGuire Contemporary Art Awards. The awards are presented by the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. Winners will receive $25,000 each to advance their studio practices.

David S. Leonard, MD, an associate professor of otolaryngology, has been selected to lead the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine.

Stallings, both professors of molecular microbiology at Washington University School of Medicine, have been elected to the American Academy of Microbiology in recognition of their scientific achievements and original contributions that have advanced the field of microbiology.

The Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine has named pediatricians Jason Newland, MD, and Cassandra “Casey” M. Pruitt, MD, to the newly created roles of vice chair of community health and strategic planning, and vice chair of outpatient health, respectively.

Joseph P. Culver, the Sherwood Moore Professor of Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at the School of Medicine, has been named director of the Biophotonics Research Center in the Division of Radiological Sciences. 

Stephen Legomsky, the John S. Lehmann University Professor Emeritus at Washington University, testified at a March 15 hearing before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee about identifying and removing barriers to legal migration.

Douglas L. Mann, MD, the Ada L. Steininger Professor of Cardiology at the School of Medicine, has received the American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) 2022 Distinguished Scientist Award in the translational domain category.
