Academy honors six university faculty
Six Washington University in St. Louis faculty members are being honored by the Academy of Science – St. Louis for their outstanding contributions to the field. They will be recognized at an awards dinner Sept. 20 at the Missouri Botanical Garden.
Dharnidharka installed as Hartmann Professor of Pediatrics
Vikas R. Dharnidharka, MD, a professor of pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been installed as the Alexis F. Hartmann Sr., MD, Professor of Pediatrics. He was installed in August on the Medical Campus.
Boyd receives ASME early career leadership award
Emily Boyd, teaching professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science at the McKelvey School of Engineering, has been selected to receive the 2023 American Society of Mechanical Engineers Lakshmi Singh Early Career Leadership Award.
Clukies, Malik named Loeb Teaching Fellows
Lindsay Clukies, MD, an associate professor of pediatrics, and Mariam Malik, MD, an assistant professor of radiology, have been named the 2023-25 Carol B. and Jerome T. Loeb Teaching Fellows at the School of Medicine.

Scientists selected for Mars sample return effort
NASA and the European Space Agency chose Ryan Ogliore and Kun Wang, both in Arts & Sciences, for the Mars Sample Return Measurement Definition Team. This group will help realize the science potential of the first samples ever to be returned from another planet.
