Emeritus trustee George Bauer, BS ’53, MS ’59, and his wife, Carol Bauer, believe in the power of servant leadership. Here they talk about their exemplary service to Washington University and why they established the George and Carol Bauer Leaders Academy for the Danforth Scholars Program.

Alumna Andrea Grant remains committed to the institution that provided her with an exceptional education. She participates in events, serves in leadership roles, provides scholarships for promising A&S and law students, and much more.

Swimming for WashU brought them together. Today, a passion for providing access to learning keeps them on the university’s team.

Recently appointed to the university’s board of trustees, alumna Vicki Match Suna serves the university in numerous ways. She has particularly enjoyed being involved in the university’s recent capital project to transform the east end of the Danforth Campus.

Andrew and Barbara Taylor are two of the institution’s staunchest supporters. They cherish the opportunity to serve WashU, whether by leading a comprehensive campaign, fostering student success or sponsoring new areas of medical research.

Longtime supporters of the medical school, Debra and George Couch are focused now on helping advance discoveries through precision medicine.

Alumna Jane Hardesty Poole learned from her physician-father the importance of giving. Today, she continues to support the university in honor of his lifetime of service.

Michael and Noémi Neidorff are two of St. Louis’ most dedicated citizens. Their commitment and outreach make the city and the organizations they engage with better for all.

Mentorship and support helped Joyce Buchheit start and sustain a successful business career. For decades, she has paid it forward, helping students, faculty and organizations advance and thrive.

Alicia McDonnell, JD ’95, is a former prosecutor. Today, she encourages law students to pursue careers in public service.
