Employees facing financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic may apply for assistance from the WashU Crisis Response Fund starting Monday, April 27, through May 4. The fund already has supported many students needing financial help.

University Libraries invites members of the campus community to join its virtual book club. Book club meetings will be held via Zoom. Registration is required. The next is Wednesday, April 22, and the club will discuss “Mistress of the Art of Death” by Ariana Franklin.

This year, typical Earth Day events were canceled due to COVID-19. Instead, the Office of Sustainability invites the university community and partners to take part in an online Earth Day Ecochallenge,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended the use of cloth face coverings to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Members of the university community are invited to help sew masks that will be made available in the community for nonmedical use.

The Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement wants to update Washington University in St. Louis students and families about how students are to be counted in the 2020 U.S. census in light of  COVID-19. 

Washington University in St. Louis joined business, government and philanthropic leaders to take part in the COVID-19 Regional Response Fund, created to assist area nonprofits affected by the pandemic.

To mark National Poetry Month, the Center for the Humanities in Arts & Sciences is inviting readers of all backgrounds to create short poems in response to daily prompts.

The Danforth Staff Council, which works with the administration to address staff concerns and provide input on university decisions, is accepting applications for new members. Applications are due by Friday, April 3.

Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Missouri-St. Louis are partnering for an upcoming virtual teach-in to discuss solutions to abate climate change. All are welcome to take part.
