It’s time to donate new, used coats

The Washington University Police Department encourages the WUSTL community to support the 13th Annual Warners’ Warm-Up Coat Drive. From now until Nov. 14, you can bring new and gently used winter coats to the Police Department in Lien House.

Celebrating Washington University by celebrating distinguished faculty and alumni at Founders Day

On Saturday, Nov. 2, Washington University’s “family” will come from near and far to gather in St. Louis and celebrate its founding in 1853. The annual Founders Day dinner and ceremony, sponsored by the WUSTL Alumni Association, will feature an address by Jon Huntsman Jr., former U.S. ambassador to China. Other highlights include the presentation of Distinguished Faculty and Alumni awards and the Robert S. Brookings Awards.

WUPD provides tips to help students stay safe in the dark

The Washington University in St. Louis Police Department will implement its “Don’t be in the Dark” safety program to educate students about safely walking after dark beginning the evening of Monday, Nov. 4, and continuing through Thursday, Nov. 7.

Free vehicle inspections offered Dec. 7

The Washington University Police Department and Parking Services, in partnership with Hartmann’s Towing, will offer a free vehicle inspection service for WUSTL students, faculty and staff from noon-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the lower level of Millbrook Garage.

Butterfly Garden celebrates 17th birthday, honors longtime leaders

The 17th birthday celebration of the Elizabeth Danforth Butterfly Garden, held Oct. 6, drew 60 guests to enjoy the garden and honor longtime volunteer leader Jean Davis. The garden was dedicated in 1996 in honor of Elizabeth Gray Danforth, the late wife of Washington University Chancellor Emeritus William Danforth.
