Help the university recognize a staff member who goes above and beyond to help students, faculty or others in the WUSTL community by nominating him or her for the Gloria W. White Distinguished Service Award. The deadline to submit nominations is Feb. 21.

WUSTL named Tree Campus for fourth year

Washington University in St. Louis is a Tree Campus USA for the fourth year in a row, the Arbor Day Foundation recently announced. Tree Campus USA is a national program created in 2008 to honor colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.

I-CARES  to offer funds for innovative research

I-CARES (the International Center for Advanced Renewable Energy and Sustainability) has released its 2014 call for research proposals. I-CARES will award up to $500,000 this year in seed funding for innovative research projects to tenured and tenure-track faculty at Washington University in St. Louis.

Faculty learn from each other at i teach symposium

Washington University in St. Louis faculty participated in the annual i teach symposium at the Knight Center earlier this month. It was a chance for faculty and staff from all seven schools to exchange ideas about innovative teaching across disciplines.

Announcing Washington University’s Spring 2014 Assembly Series

The Washington University in St. Louis Assembly Series turned 60 in 2013, and to mark such an august occasion, it’s fitting to remember why the lecture series was conceived in the first place. The Assembly Series launched during the institution’s centennial celebration in 1953 as a way to involve the broader St. Louis community in the robust intellectual life on campus.

PB&Joy seeks volunteers

PB&Joy, WUSTL’s annual food drive, is looking for students, staff and faculty to assist in this year’s effort to collect kid-friendly foods for 135,000 St. Louis-area children.
