Bear’s chair. The three bears — Pop A. Bear, Mom A. Bear and Babe — applauded the verdict, which was returned by a jury of 15 children. The mock trial was just one event staged by Washington University in St. Louis as part of its 150th birthday celebration. The Goldilocks trial was hardly the main event of the day, though, which kicked off at 11 a.m. More than 200 events took place from nearly every department and program in the university. Here’s another update on the day’s festivities.

150? Cool. Top 10? Awesome!

The university passed the 150-year mark this year. And on Sunday it’s throwing itself a very public birthday bash, complete with more than 200 activities between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the main and medical school campuses. It’s a family affair with lots of kid stuff and a birthday cake, 8 feet in diameter and made of lollipops in the school’s colors, red and green. Everything is free and everyone is invited.
