If you are a Washington University in St. Louis faculty member with an interest in developing teaching or research collaborations with colleagues in other departments or schools, the “Bring Your Own Idea” program is offering a third round of grants to help forge such a connection.

Timothy Cardinal Dolan, archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York, returns to his St. Louis hometown to deliver a public lecture at noon Wednesday, March 2, in Graham Chapel on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.

Among Missouri’s poorest performing districts, the Jennings School District had lost accreditation and community support. But when a dynamic new superintendent arrived with a bold plan to turn around the district, Washington University stepped up with resources to serve children both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Jennings School District, in partnership with Washington University School of Medicine, has launched a free, on-site health and social-services clinic called Supporting Positive Opportunities for Teens — The SPOT at Jennings.

Cyclists traveling near the Delmar Loop are encouraged to avoid the recently installed Loop Trolley tracks and take a newly marked bike route. The route will be marked in the upcoming weeks with signs and painted sharrows.

John P. Grotzinger, the scientist who led the Mars Rover Curiosity mission that discovered evidence of water in 2012, will deliver the McDonnell Distinguished Lecture on Wednesday, March 2, at Washington University in St. Louis.

Award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa will be the keynote speaker at the campus-wide Day of Discovery & Dialogue, to be held Feb. 24-25 at Washington University. Her talk, titled “Inclusion: Finding New Ways of Thinking, Inspiring Action,” will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Eric P. Newman Education Center on the Medical Campus.
