International social work students recently completed work in a first-of-its-kind intensive summer seminar focused on advanced research methods. The Institute in Critical Quantitative, Computational, and Mixed Methodologies (ICQCM) has been established at Washington University in St. Louis, thanks to a $500,559 National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to Odis Johnson, professor of sociology and of education, both in Arts & Sciences. The grant is designed to mitigate the disparities in the number of underrepresented scholars that utilize quantitative and computational research methods and techniques.

Chancellor Andrew D. Martin has announced the organizational realignment of the Division of Student Affairs to report to his office, effective immediately. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori S. White, who had previously served under the provost, will now report directly to Martin.

Effective fall 2019, the start and end times for day classes on the Danforth Campus will be observed “as listed” (i.e., as published in Course Listings) with the transition time between classes taking place at the end of the published time, instead of at the beginning of the published time.
