Lori S. White, vice chancellor for student affairs and professor of practice in education at Washington University, has been appointed president of DePauw University, effective July 1. She will leave her current position on May 31 to assume her new role, according to Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

Anne Tao, a respected businesswoman, philanthropist, community leader and Washington University in St. Louis benefactor, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, in Franklin, Tenn. She was 98.

Fifty-five years ago, on March 7, 1965, the events of “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Ala., forever changed the civil rights movement and the life of Rep. John Lewis. He recalled his experience in 1985 for the landmark documentary series “Eyes on the Prize.” Lewis’ interviews, along with those of Sheriff James Clark, Gov. George Wallace and others, are available online through Washington University Libraries’ Film and Media Archive.
