The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity has launched a new podcast, “Everywhere with CRE².” The podcast plans to explore research from center faculty and fellows and dive deep into issues affecting St. Louis and the world.

Brazilian immunologist José Luís Fachi will join the laboratory of Marco Colonna, MD, the Robert Rock Belliveau, MD, Professor of Pathology at the School of Medicine, as a Pew Latin American Fellow in Biomedical Sciences. Fachi plans to study how metabolites produced by healthy gut bacteria promote intestinal immunity.

William Acree, professor of Spanish in Arts & Sciences, has been appointed interim co-director of the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE2) at Washington University. Acree has served as a CRE2 associate director since the center’s founding in 2019.
