Philip R.O. Payne has been named an inaugural Janet and Bernard Becker Professor at the School of Medicine. He was installed by Chancellor Andrew D. Martin and David Perlmutter, MD, executive vice chancellor for medical affairs.

Dolores B. Njoku, MD, the director of pediatric anesthesiology at the School of Medicine and anesthesiologist-in-chief at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, has been installed as the new Rudolph L. and Mary Frances Wise Endowed Chair in Pediatric Anesthesiology.

Chancellor Andrew D. Martin and Provost Beverly Wendland have appointed a 10-member committee to identify candidates for the position of dean of the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis.

Mark E. Lowe, MD, PhD, an academic leader and accomplished pediatric physician-scientist at the School of Medicine, has been appointed the university’s vice chancellor for research, effective July 1.

Kathy Gaytan, director of internal audit, has been promoted to executive director of compliance and audit at Washington University in St. Louis, announced Chancellor Andrew D. Martin.

Linda C. Samuels, a professor of urban design in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, will serve as interim director of the Sam Fox School’s College of Architecture and Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design for the 2023-24 academic year. Samuels’ appointment is effective Aug. 1.

Jennifer Stedelin has been named the university’s first associate vice chancellor for administrative and academic technologies, announced Jessie Minton, chief information officer and vice chancellor for information technology.

Ting Wang, a national leader in genetics and genomics who has led groundbreaking studies in how the genome is regulated, has been named head of the Department of Genetics at the School of Medicine. A computational biologist, he will begin his new role Aug. 1.

Colin A. Martin, MD, a specialist in intestinal rehabilitation surgery and an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in surgery, has been named director of the Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine.

Jon Heleno, former deputy controller at Columbia University, has been appointed associate vice chancellor for finance – planning and budgets at Washington University, announced Amy B. Kweskin, executive vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer.
